Kelly Wright brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in marketing and fundraising to Independent Living, Inc. and Independent Home Care, Inc., two organizations dedicated to advocacy, providing services, and helping to enhance the lives of people with disabilities. Her passion and dedication to advocating for people with disabilities has grown substantially over the past decade.
After a successful career in Corporate Marketing and Advertising, including roles at MGM MIRAGE in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Moroney’s Harley-Davidson in Newburgh, New York, Kelly made a significant transition. Her move to the non-profit sector was driven by a deep-seated desire to support, advocate, and fundraise for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, a community she deeply cares about.
As someone who has been a Type 1 Diabetic for 40 years, Kelly understands the challenges that individuals with disabilities face and the importance of education, advocacy, and support. Her role as the Director of Marketing and Development is crucial to our success in creating a barrier-free society, as she will lead efforts in marketing, advertising, development, fundraising, and events. With her team, Kelly will continue to advocate for our consumers and work towards a society full of opportunities and inclusion.
Outside of her professional life, Kelly is a proud mother to a daughter who teaches English to middle school children and a mother-in-law to a son who teaches high school mathematics. She is a published author and writes a humor column for a local newspaper. Kelly has also been recognized for her volunteer work at JDRF and has received several awards for customer service and marketing initiatives. In her free time, she embraces a positive outlook on life, enjoys laughing as much as possible, and her love for adventure takes her around the world.
