Enhanced WELCOME Orange Geriatric Initiative
(E-WOGI)
At Independent Living, Inc. (ILI), our mission is centered around empowering individuals with disabilities to live fulfilling lives with dignity and independence. In alignment with this mission, we recognize the importance of supporting older adults in our community through proactive outreach initiatives.
ILI works with partnership agencies to deliver the Enhanced WELCOME Orange Geriatric Initiative (E-WOGI Program). This program operates on the principles of inclusivity and empowerment, aiming to identify and assist at-risk older adults who may not be connected to existing service networks. Our dedicated staff members recognize signs of unmet needs in older adults, enabling them to intervene early and provide necessary support. This initiative prioritizes the well-being and independence of older adults, particularly those who have been historically underserved.
The State Office of Mental Health funds the WOGI project and represents a collaborative effort among aging, mental health, and substance use agencies, as well as community collaborators. Our goal is to enhance wellness, promote independence, and foster stability among individuals aged 55 and older with specific access needs.
ILI is dedicated to ensuring that older adults in our community receive the support they need to age with dignity and remain in their homes. Through collaborative efforts and a person-centered approach, we strive to promote independence, improve well-being, and address unmet needs among this population.
