2026 Events
Our events bring people together to celebrate progress, spark conversation, strengthen community, and raise funds for the people we support. Each gathering reflects our commitment to advancing independence and expanding opportunity for people with disabilities.
Throughout the year, Independent Living, Inc. hosts programs, trainings, advocacy discussions, and signature fundraising events that educate, engage, and inspire action to remove barriers.
Check back often for new events and updates.

Disability Community Roundtable Discussion
Please join us tomorrow for an important and timely Disability Community Roundtable discussion on accessible and disability-competent healthcare.
This facilitated Zoom discussion will provide an opportunity for members of the disability community to share perspectives related to healthcare and experiences accessing clinical and non-clinical services to maintain health and support independence. Topics will include barriers to care, accessible exam equipment, clinician-staff interactions, and other factors that affect equitable healthcare access.
The goal of this roundtable is to elevate lived experience, identify common challenges, and support dialogue that can inform more inclusive and responsive healthcare practices. Your voice and insight are essential to this conversation.

17th Annual Friends of Independence Breakfast
At ILI, “yes” is more than a word. It is access. It is an opportunity. It is a job secured, a barrier removed, a door opened that once seemed closed. Every day, individuals with disabilities hear “no” in ways both visible and invisible. Together, we are changing that narrative.
This year’s breakfast will highlight the real impact of saying yes to inclusion, yes to independence, and yes to community-driven solutions. You will hear powerful stories, see measurable results, and learn how your partnership fuels meaningful change across our region.
Join business leaders, advocates, community members, and changemakers as we redefine what is possible.
Location: The Country Club at Otterkill
Time: 8:00 am (Registration begins at 7:30 am)
